Closed Deck Freight Services

Closed deck shipping services have certain clear advantages over the alternative of an open-deck trailer thanks to the presence of walls and a ceiling to protect the cargo that is being shipped. Companies choose enclosed trailers when they are shipping cargo that may need protection from the elements of weather, road debris, etc.

Deck Configurations

We offer a variety of closed deck freight services as part of our comprehensive U.S.-Mexico-Canada cargo logistics services. Each option has a specific purpose suited to various types of cargo.

Dry Van

This is the most recognizable type of closed deck trailer. It is an enclosed trailer with swing doors or roll-up doors at the rear of the trailer. This is the recommended option for the majority of general palletized cargo loaded at distribution centers needing dock height trailers.

Conestoga

This versatile closed-deck option has an adjustable cover that extends back over the cargo after loading. This allows for side loading, similar to flatbeds, which is not possible in a dry van or other types of closed-deck trailers. We offer both 48 and 53-foot conestoga flatbeds and conestoga stepdecks for all North American regions.
